personally think jason denayer is a better prospect than stones, granted that stones is good with the ball at his feet but he is not a good defender, denayer is both comfortable with the ball and can defend

Is it just me? Watching him play for England and Everton (granted on the telly), I just see a very poor defender - easily turned, error prone and gives the ball away a lot. Every man and his dog seem to rate him so what am I missing?

I've felt for a while that there's a chance that Pep could convert him into a defensive mid. I'm convinced people will be eating humble pie over Raheem next summer and I'm hoping it'll be the case if we sign Stones.

He looks ok on the ball but as Lee Dixon pointed out, he probably needs to play with a more experienced centre half at this stage of his career. The thought of Stones and Otemendi playing for us next season fills me with dread!
