Every team has money now thanks to the new TV deal. Some people are stuck in the days when £40 million was only paid for the worlds best players. These days £30-£40 million is the going rate for just good players.

Everton rejected £40 million from Chelsea so it will be between that and £50 million for Stones. Some best get used to that.

To be fair, I don't begrudge the actual fans of the team hating us for taking their best players. Aston Villa fans have the right to be annoyed. The difference is that in those cases, it was just the fans of the affected teams. When we took a player off Liverpool, it was the start of a massive media campaign against us, despite the fact that when we bought Sterling, there was a far bigger gap between us a Liverpool than there was between us and Villa when we signed Barry.

i think the media played their part in the negativity towards all those players...and stoked the fires of haters between the fans

Fuck Villa fans, they're living in the past and still think they are a bigger club than us, and that's the reason they get upset when we take their players. You didn't see the same histrionics when the rags took Young from them.

No,Stones is better in every department IMO,positionally,defensively,technically and physically - he also has a bigger heart,something that was lacking in Nastasic.

Vastly overrated. Not even sure who to compare him with. Watched most Everton games last season, never understood what's so special about this kid. Better stick with what we have.
