John Stones

Let put this straight. Stones is an outstanding footballer. Young and English. He's worth every penny in today's market. Bony too is a very good player. Both had poor seasons but both with poor managers. If they do swop I'm sure both will prosper. To he fair Everton are a massive club, certainly as big as us,with their new money they could offer stones champion league football soon. What they don't have is that now, factor in Pep and you can see why he wants to come here. It's no slant on Everton it's just a timing thing. It's notable that he wouldn't sign for peggy last year. Well done lad.

No disrespect to Everton but I think you are doing us a disservice there, in what way are they as big as us? Globally? Commercially? I think not, in fact no data will back that statement up, I'm sure you've seen the recent report on us being one of the most valuable sports teams around today(28th) certainly as far as football teams go(6th) . As for the new money it's come from a guy who sold his Arsenal shares and then bought 49.9% of Evertons, last season there were 13 Clubs in the premiere league with Billionaire stakeholders, the money will help(new stadium on the cards perhaps) but it doesn't guarantee they will be offering Champions League football on a regular basis any time soon.

Everton would match all of that had our owner invested in them instead.
we had a slight edge in as much he could dethrone the rags.

Everton would have matched it with our owner, but the new investor in Everton wont match what we have done I can't see them reaching top 4 on a regular basis.

You mean they were as big as us before our owner came then? I can't argue with that but that's another point completely though, I think we are very fortunate to have Sheikh Mansour as our owner and we've come so far since he arrived that we have to appreciate it and give full credit for what has been achieved to this point in time.

the teams were on a level footing. Everton had a better recent history but we both were overshadowed by red cunts. then.....boom.

Yes, but we are miles in front of Everton now. That's the point he is making.

They certainly don't need to sell players if they don't want to anymore but I think that's becoming true of most BPL clubs with the TV money, I hope Southampton will be able to keep their best players from now on, it will be interesting to see what happens when they can tell Liverpool and Arsenal to bugger off every time they get a nice core going.

But you valued him at half that. Either that or you value Stones at over 50 mill.

Why wouldn't Everton overvalue Stones and undervalue Bony? We are desperate to get rid of Bony and desperate to sign Stones. They hold the cards, not us.
