I absolutely love it. This is the type of thing I was waiting/hoping for with Pep. He's talking about using Fernandinho and Fernando at CB! The gambler in me really wants this deal to fall through so we can tell everton to fuck off and find out just how crazy and amazing Pep is. We probably will end up paying the asking price though, just like we did for KDB and Sterling and with Stones going to play a vital part in the way Pep likes his teams to play, it makes sense to get the deal done before the start of the season.

I think we're in the better negotiating position personally. We have 4 CB's and pep's talking about playing the fern's too! He's crazy enough to do it. The player doesn't want to be there. His value could drop again. We've shown that we are paying only fair value and that's also a lot of money to turn down. I'll be disappointed if we cave and 'just pay it'.

That's the conundrum isn't it? The other side of the coin is that Everton are stuck with a player who doesn't want to be there and they've got to replace. So the longer they leave it, the more difficult that might be for them and, if it goes on until the end of the window, they risk getting ripped off or missing their primary target. So it's a question of who blinks first.

Or maybe we've even pretty well agreed a deal but are publicly claiming we aren't close so they can get someone in quietly without everyone knowing they have £50m in their pocket.

How about we tell everton to take it or get lost. We role the dice with our CB's and the Fern's. We come to an agreement with RM over kroos. RM buys pogba and Pep absolutely destroy's Maureen again. Poetry and we're all happy I think :)

It didn't drop when he had an awful 15/16 season, why assume it would be affected by another average season? Plus Koeman is a very good defensive coach who will undoubtedly get better performances out of Stones than Martinez could manage, and even if Stones wants to leave, he'll also want to play, and get in the England team, so he's not going to stay on the sidelines sulking all year.

At the end of the day we want a player they want to keep and have no financial need to sell. We're almost certainly going to pay what they want.

How do you coach a player that doesn't want to be there,a player who's had the opportunity to play for a team that's challenging on all fronts,taken away from him.

We don't know if Everton want to keep him. They may prefer the money, to build the squad. As it's fucking shite when you look at it on paper. Really really shite.
