I am not sure why you're talking about the fee though.

You will pay what you think is correct. Or rather, you'll try to.

Everton will accept or reject that depending on whether or not that fee is £50,000,000.

There's nothing else to discuss and that's why I'm not sure people are talking about the fee.
We'll see. What is clear is that this should have been sorted a long time ago. Dragging it out for a small gain (compared to Moshiri's largesse) damages your squad....means you have less time and a smaller number of available players, and will end up paying more....or you'll start the season with a fed up Stones

IMO Pogba will flop, the £100m price tag will weigh down on him and he will try to do too much and will be surrounded by mediocre players in midfield making it even harder for him.

Interesting bit on Francis, I really am hoping we don't meet Everton's valuation of Stones.

Personally would rather not have the player if we have to make him the world's most expensive defender which is the title that would be constantly associated with him, you wouldn't see one article or report on Stones without mentioning it. Articles and commentary would go like this:

World's most expensive defender makes a mistake that leads to a goal.

World's most expensive defender starts today's game on the bench for City (even if hes being rested/rotated).

World's most expensive defender can't make the England starting eleven.

We wouldn't hear the end of it!!!

Its too much pressure for a 22-year old kid, he wouldn't be able to cope.
The thing is with Stones, I think he would be able to cope with it. I remember a game at Goodison last season where he was shielding the ball in his own box and did really well and got out of a tough situation. The Everton fans were going mad at him to "get rid" but he had total composure and had the situation under control. When he'd moved the ball forward he turned round and [quite funnily] went "calm down, calm down" to the Everton fans, as if to say, "don't worry you Scouse wankers, I know what the fuck I'm doing!"

The Everton fan boy on here is a bit of a pisser, keeps on insisting the fee will be 50 million nothing else and City can't do shit to lower it even by a million. No one knows whats on Evertons mind or Citys mind regards to the fee. Do you actually think Everton will reject a 49.8 mill offer? The fact that Everton has come to the table means there is always a chance of a compromise, you just don't know how much that compromise from either end will be. Must be tough to see your club do zilch till August except get linked and rejected.

Good point, I still think that Everton may settle for 45m instead of keeping a player another season who made it clear he wants to go to City. They seem to be already looking at other CBs, hopefully the deal is finalized in the next week or so.

I'm not sure why the story of Otamendi being a "flop" has started to become a widespread opinion. He was brilliant at times last season, and when he wasn't great, you could nearly always put it down to Pellegrini's mad defensive set up forcing him to jump out of the line.

Under Pep, and with a season to get used to England and the team, I expect he'll make a few people writing him off look pretty silly.

This. People said much the same about Zab in his first season over here. With a little bit of direction - which I'm sure he will get - this lad should become a major player for us.

People want Stones and claim he was ruined under Martinez IMO Otamendi was ruined under Pellegrini

Stones, Kompany and Otamendi is a formidable choice.

Anyone know when Mangala back in training? Sagna was back today, but havent seen any confirmation on Mangala? Maybe just reading too much into things but hoping Stones is close to joining!
