Not totally convinced but quite a few people have repeated similar claims recently.

always good to wait until official word but your right, does seem to be a few people claiming stuff today....The twitter account that posted this lastest rumour is saying that someone at City TV told him the news and deal is near the 50mil asking price.....guess we should hear tomorrow or Wednesday if any of these lastest rumours are true..

That CL deadline is just for the QUALIFIER, NOT the Group Stages!!

Keep saying it but we can't pay the asking price after giving them a final offer or we will be taken as mugs for future transfer windows until we show we have big balls. Show Everton up by signing Chiellini for 4-5years for £30-40m(good money for a player of his age not sure if Juve will take it though) who is better in the here and now than Stones, then tell Stones not to sign any extensions and we'll pick him up on a free, that will teach them.

Understand your point.
But we don't have to play Kolarov or Fernando at CB irrespective of whether we sign Stones.
Ya Ya,Fernandinho and Sagna are all better options and of course Ota when he's fit and even Mangala so long as he's still with us.
