John Stones

I'm thinking this report is utter nonsense based on the fact Koeman wont want to sign a footballer who has very limited technical ability. For the same reason,i reckon Pep will be looking for the first opportunity to get rid.

I still think this deal has been agreed at about 45m but we are waiting on Everton announcing their replacement.

That wouldn't surprise me at all.

But if it was true, I think it would be ridiculous to offer Bony to Everton for 15 mil. If that's his price, stick him on the market at 15 mil. I recon 50 clubs will want him at that price.

bony is actually a really good striker . one day he will become another drogba . so i value him about 30 mil . now , we can offer him + 20 mil to everton to get stone .
As others have mentioned, it's the wages that would drag the transfer fee down. Also, if he's the next Drogba, then in today's market he's worth nearer £100m...so I don't think he is.

I don't know if this speculation is down to the pic of Bony driving through Liverpool???

Not sure where he lives but if he was driving from Manchester to Everton, he'd probably go down the East Lancs, so not sure why he would be driving through the City centre. Maybe just a day out?...Crikey.

Maybe his sat nav is from Halfords and he thought he was going the airport.

I dont believe we have offered him at 15m,i think its total fabrication based on his car being seen in their city.

They're probably not even aware of the speculation in liverpool given no one reads the rag.

I wouldn't be surprised if we sell Bony to Everton but it is done separately to the Stones transfer. In reality players plus cash deals are quite rare, but I can see us selling Bony to Everton at a reduced fee, which will then be reflected in the Stones signing, once they have brought in a centre back.

I can't see Stones being at Everton when the transfer window closes, although it must be frustrated for all concerned that this is still dragging on. Hopefully it will move quickly when Everton sign a new centre back.

He lives in Hale. I've been behind that car on the M56 a while back, definitely his

I think the scouser who followed him posted that he was heading towards the Hilton Hotel which is near the Albert Dock. Like you say could be for any reason, but could be for a meeting

Yes, fair enough, it could be then. It's all getting a bit tenuous though when we're speculating based on a car driving through a city and a bloke out with his missus shopping in Manchester. Keep telling myself after every season I won't get drawn in by the transfer stuff but here I am again.

Who the fuck would go to candle land for a day out?

Stones under Pep will be awesome, he has all the qualities needed to succeed at every level, he can do all the defensive work regardless of how he finished last season but his main attribute is the way he wants to play the game yes the correct way on the friggin ground folks, he is intelligent & will be a fantastic asset to City & become the best in Europe within 5 years & captain City. £50m is lots of money but if we don't pay it UTD or Chealsea will & we don't want him going there for 10 years no way. City get it done...
Get off here your on holiday.

How can you say Bony has limited technical ability? He has a fantastic touch. His problem was that last season he was not fit and he never gets a run in the team. I don't think he is mobile enough to play in the channels and make the runs that Aguero does and City aren't going to change their game when Aguero isn't in the team.

Remember that when he was at Swansea where he was their main man, he scored one goal in every two, and some really quality goals too.

But I agree your subsequent comment on this Sun story is probably all based around a photo of a car. Everton have a friendly at home against Espanyol today. It will be interesting to see whether Stones plays, and whether Koeman makes any remarks about transfers. Also City will be in Sweden. Is Bony there? if the answer is no, then maybe he's injured, or maybe he is sorting out a deal.

It would make sense to do a swap deal with Everton, and I am sure it will have been explored by City before now. Biggest hurdle might be wages. Are Everton going to be able to match his terms? Must be on around £60k pw.

Is he supposed to be there now? I live on the docks so I could pop over to spot his car on my way for breakfast...

When was this, yesterday?

If Everton think Bony is worth £15m then they clearly think he is only an 8 goals a season striker. So then let them put their money where their mouths are and pay us £500k for every goal he scores above 8 in the next 3 seasons?
