Irriates me to see Raheem being called a flop. He had a good season and started really well. Was in the the team of the group stage in the Champions League. Only English player and second player from the PL (Willian). Of course he's inconsistent but he's only 21. Managed to produce the same numbers as his last season at Liverpool but played less games in a new team with a lot more pressure, under a manager who didn't let him express himself and also got injured. Was everybody expecting at 21 year old to come in and score 20 goals right away? Given the circumstances I would say Raheem excelled. He will have a great season under Pep and learn a lot.
John Stones will hopefully also have a great season. Excited to see him play now that his mind is sorted and he's fully focused. Some of his dribbling and passing is really class. Takes a lot of balls to dribble in his own box like he did that one game. I don't see the price being an issue, we didn't make him the most expensive defender in the world like I predicted before and Chelsea were ready to pay 40m last season. Ok, Stones didn't have a great year but the potential is there and inflation this summer has soared. Seems like a humble person that will do everything for the team.
100m for both these players will be seen as a bargain in a few years. Stones and Sterling will be starting every game at the international level for years to come and will be helping us win trophies. They both have enormous potential; at 22 and 21 respectively have their whole careers ahead of them and have a combined 200 Premier League appearances already, both could become genuine world class players.
