John Terry [Merged]

Chelsea fans will increasingly turn against Terry whilst he maintains his silence.

Nightmare situation for Chelsea. they need to bring this matter to a resolution, but how do you replace Terry? It's impossible, and it would have the potential to destroy their hopes for next season. So they may just decide to brazen it out, and go into the new season with an unhappry player. They alternative - losing the player - is worse

Shame mate. I think Terry really needs to clear this up as its only the Chelsea fans he is hurting in all honesty.

I know. It sounds stupid, but I wish he realised what he is doing to the fans of the club he supposedly cared about, the club that made him who he is. If he really cared about the club he'd address this- even if it was a statement to say he will announce something soon.

Thats the only reason I think we have a chance, in that surely deep down he must know what its doing? He isnt going to a sign a new contract and everyone hail him as a hero. At the very least we are being used as a bargaining tool to up his pay cheque. Its a sad state of affairs that its come down to this. Its more money or even more money now. It shouldnt even have gone this far. If I was a fan of a different club I would see this as bigger than Gerrard being tempted by yourselves. Its gone on for so long without even a comment. I mean most players manage to say something?

i never said that did i?? to compete with the best you need the best players in every position.... now tell me which top 4 side Nedum would get in???? I never said sell every young prospect we will ever have did i?

You imply it though. LIKE IS SAID HAPPY TO HAVE THEM BUT NOT AT THE EXPENSE OF QUALITY DEVELOPED PLAYERS.

Nedum is 22 his best is yet to come. Toure is 28 and has health issues. Terry is 29 and has injury problems with his back. One eye on the future.

I wonder if Terry himself is as undecided about this as we are? One thing that I know for certain is that if he turns us down we'll be the club signing the next generation of John Terrys and the like.

We've earnt this, let's enjoy it.
ADUG, you'll never fully understand how grateful I am.

Doubt it. While it's a big decision he has probably had months to decide what he wants to do. I'd be amazed if he hasn't decided, whatever way it is.

What has having a core of English homegrown players won us so far? I'm interested to know

good point

So we just scrap the academy and just go the Chelsea / Real route then ?
Of course not. and you know that City are not doing that. They are investing a lot of money in the Academy and taking it international. The model for me is Barcelona, and to an extent Chelsea, but it's easy when you are on top

Would the likes of you remain quiet if Hughes ignored the transfer mkt and relied on the Academy? he'd be out of a job in 2 seasons max. The answer is to use both, but our wealth is our competitive advantage. There are advatages to academy players in that they know the club, the League, and can be inculcated in the style of play that the manager wants - but your views are unbalanced.

I agree ......... The rumors of an unofficial "come and get me" plea have been going round since Jan so he's had plenty of time to think about it and we must have had the nod for us to bid again this summer.

there only two outcomes

new big contract at chelsea...... and he's using our interest to get it
or
new super sized contract with us .......and he's just trying to engineer a move

Nightmare for Anchelotti walking into this PR minefield as he's trying to find his feet, well out of his comfort zone hoping not to look a total idiot for making hollow promises...

Imo he's being stage managed on this situation. Did you see him when pressed why the silence from Terry? his reply "we have to wait" then try's humour to dilute the situation, he aint got a fooking clue imho.
