Would've been a big scalp that silenced those who say we can't attract the really big players, instead it's one more to the list of the lost. We're going to take a lot of stick for this. Having said that, as long we sign at least one good defender and have a good start to the season it will pale in to insignificance very soon.

What isn't a surprise to me as a Chelsea fan, though, is how quickly so many fans become so arrogant. From slating off other clubs for buying the league, to thinking it's okay to buy anyone and everyone - not my views but gleaned from comments in this topic.

So it's not ok to buy anyone and everyone? Since when was that rule introduced? Hughes, Cook etc will try and buy anyone they think will improve our squad and theres nothing wrong with that, some we won't get and some we will

well it was fun while it lasted. a good wheeze all round. put the spotlight on Chelsea's politics, upped their wage bill. I am surprised that the chelsea fans who were never in doubt are mighty relieved ;)

Obviously I wanted JT here because he is quality but at least it's all been settled now and we can move on to other targets. At least it's not going to run on until the window shuts. I think deep down we all knew this was going to be the most likely outcome. One thing I do find funny is how all these chelski fans on ssn have changed their tune so quickly and the fact they seem to think he won't be getting an improved wage for staying there. Anyway like I said it would have been great to have pulled this one off but it's only early days in our progression so now we move on and I for one would be chuffed if we get Lescott and Toure.
