Re: John Terry

To be fair, it was reported in a couple of reputable newspapers (guardian and independent, I think) that we inquired in Jan, and Terry's representatives let it be known that he was not uninterested.

Another thing in favour of the move is that Terry is a complete shit, so one could in fact imagine him turning his back on Chelsea despite weaselling his way into the fans' hearts as 'Mr CHelsea'.

HOWEVER...as he is a complete shit, he could also be planning to use our interest simply to screw more money out of Roman. So, who knows? Unlikely, but I could almost imagine it, whereas Lampard, I think, would not move to any other English club.

Re: John Terry

Terry WAS interested in January but that was at a time where Chelsea were doing shit and the manager situation wasn't right. It all depends on what he thinks or his new manager. Don't be so surprised at one ADUG and money can provide.

Re: John Terry

Sounds about right, Jay. I can see him disliking Carletto, personally - unfair, as I think Carlo is good. But perhaps not the type of manager Terry would appreciate. Seems a bit vacuous, a bit of an uninspiring nonentity, but in fact he knows what he's about.

I'm in two minds about it - Terry is very good, has the attitude we need, and would shore up the defence. But is he a bit carried by his more footballing partner? And his back (and other injuries) are the x factor, bearing in mind his age.

i think there maybe a few surprises yet from our owners and what players maybe brought in but we still have a long window to go and i really cant see much happening until the internationals are over and we can talk to all players without distraction (barry being the exception as i think hughes had to work faster to get him before anybody else got in barrys ear)

Re: Chelsea reject Terry offer

It's working for me.

Chelsea Football Club can confirm it has completely rejected an offer from Manchester City for John Terry.

It was made clear to City, for the second time following an approach last season, that we would not entertain any conversation on the subject.

At that time John also reiterated his total commitment to Chelsea.

We would like to make clear, and will not do so again, that John is not for sale.
