Then there's this, which is slightly positive!!!! If a tad exagerated!

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1201545/John-Terry-offered-1million-month-Manchester-City-make-final-bid-land-him.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/footba ... d-him.html</a>

They seem sure that he will be staying at Chelsea.

I'm really not bothered - other than the usual "Terry Snubs City", and "Cook fails again" shite.

If we get Lescott and Kolo Toure (or even better options), our defence will be much improved.

I honestly don't think we'll be made to look bad if (as expected) Terry stays at Chelsea, everyone knows his head was turned.
Yes, the Kaka saga wasn't good but i think Cook has learned from that.

If the article in the Mail is true then City need to act now! At this moment in time both City and Chelsea are stuck in the same boat and it is Terry that is holding all the cards, on one hand you have City waiting for JT to say he wants to leave and Chelsea the opposite.

City need to move to take this power away from the player by making Chelsea an offer they cant refuse, if City slap that reported £50 million offer in then Chelsea have a huge decision to make, they may not want to lose their Mr Chelsea for £30 million but £50 million is a whole new ball game. If they accept the offer then JT may see Chelsea in a whole new light and we might just get the player, if Chelsea reject the offer then we can walk away head held high!

I think either of these scenarios is better than what I think is coming which is JT saying he is rejecting us!

you touch there upon something that slightly confuses me....have we lodged an increased bid as yet?

reason being that as it stands we offered circa 30mil which was publically rejected, surely we need to rattle Chelsea by whacking in a big bid and making it public prior to hearing some sort of statement from JT - unless of course we have had a bid accepted but the decision now lies with JT?

I am unsure if this is the case I am only going off the Mail line 'but Mark Hughes has been told by City's owners to land the England captain 'no matter what it costs'. They would even be prepared to pay £50m to prise him from Chelsea.' .

I think Chelsea have probably rejected a bid in the region of £30 million but if JT was to come out and say he wants to join us then I reckon City and Chelsea would reach agreement at around £30-£35 million. This is all based on what the player says but if the owners want JT so badly I say we remove his 'vote' and reach agreement with Chelsea now by whacking in this £50 million bid which I think Chelsea will find almost impossible to refuse!

What we are hearing is that John Terry has told some of his Chelsea team mates of his intentions about joining Manchester City. We are not entirely sure about this. John Terry wants to come but Chelsea are doing everything to keep him. We also know that he has been interested in a move to Manchester since January and has had numerous talks with Manchester City representatives. Djelanomcfc

well if its the same Djelano from off here he must be saving his ITK status for them, this was his last post here talking about newspaper articles. (could be a different one I suppose, but hardly ITK)

The comments from Lampard and Essien make it seem as though they are accepting that he will soon leave.

I think City have shown this summer that when they have a valuation of a players fee & wages we don't get held to ransom so I doubt we'll just throw £50m (unless it's reasonably viable with image rights etc) at chelsea and in any event JT could still turn us down.

I don't think we're panicing at the moment and i'm sure we've talked through plan b if we're not succesful. I think this could go right to the deadline
