Is he still involved with City at all? Don't hear much about him these days.

I interviewed him for my research and some of his comments (such as why he sold to Thaksin; what happened when KK resigned; why he got involved in City in the 1st place) are included in "Manchester The City Story" - all well worth reading.

He remains a passionate Blue.

Would it be OTT to suggest he saved our club from obscurity?

No, I don't think it would.

However, John Makin played an equal part in it, as they both put their own money in to keep us going.

Met John at a fans' forum once, while the negotiations to sell to Thaksin were ongoing, so he couldn't say much about that, but he did defend the sacking of Pearce. Top man, top Citizen.

Buzzer was the main speaker that evening and he had us in stitches with his tales of his time at the club under Sir Joe and Big Mal.

It was a brilliant evening all round.
