Johnny Crossan

Same here, one particular game sticks out to me was Preston at Deepdale I think we won 5:0 and Jonny was brilliant
The game that sticks out for me was away at Blackpool sunny day just got promoted 66/67 season, behind the goal large covered stand won 1-0 he put the pen away.We all then started singing in Dublins fair city we all set our eyes on sweet Johnny Crossan as he wheeled his wheel barrow through streets broad and narrow and so on,happy days.I was Deepdale for the 5-2 win 64/65 big Derek Kevan got 3 JC was not at City then mate,Deepdale following season he did play in a 3-0 win.

Remember going to those Preston away games .
They were both massive results
Preston were still a big club then although they had just started their decline.
I think Nellie was the star of the show in the 3-0 win.
Happy days.

Yes Young got a couple that day,Ralph with the other one.Think Kendall and Dawson at Preston then they should have beat west ham in the final in 64.

Am I right in thinking that day it was packed with blues behind the goal and the wooden stand was shaking as everyone was jumping up and down celebrating the goals.

It was obvious how good he was when Mercer and Allison decided he would be one of the few players they decided to keep on. He played an important part in our promotion to the 1st division.
Hardly a few players kept?

Dowd, Kennedy, Pardoe, Doyle, Oakes, Murray, Young, as well as Crossan continued to play regularly under Mercer.

Ok some had gone by the Championship winning season but so had Crossan.
