I know theres another thread - but i'd be interested in your thoughts.....Portsmouth [richest club in world pt2] have had a bid for Johnson......maybe us or Chelski but he wont go back there........would people be pleased if we got him presumably to replace Richards? I would be dissapointed as for all the big signings its nice to keep home grown players...Micah had a poor season but he's young and will get back to the standard he first set...........I'd rather keep him and bring in CD to play along side him rather than replace him. In saying that I do like Johnson, but I think defensively he's not that strong, more as an attacking full back. SWP can do that on the right.

well why did you read this one? - sometimes people don't have time to rifle through endless threads - most postings which are just people slagging off each other for not having identical points of view...........

Do we need a right sided player? Trouble is when you're a club like City with a middling team but monies to burn, you sometimes have to bid for players where you are already in a strong position.

If Liverpool are in for him, then they would be big favourites

the enquiry might be to see if he's only interested in a current top 4 club and no budging - or if club and player would both be happy to take vastly improved packages from us.

so could still be very much in with a shout.

I doubt Portsmouth can be called the richest club in the world part II - how much is Al-Fahim's independent wealth and who else is in his consortium?
