Johnson [Merged]

I guess Glenn Johnson has gotta make the choice of where he thinks he is more likely to get 1st team football as it is a world cup season.Would Ancellotti even know much about Johnson?

Exactly.

Playing for Liverpool and Chelsea should raise a few difficult questions that we could quite happily answer!

i like johnson but i want micah to be given a chance.

I can see Micah going back to centre half, especially if the deal for Lescott doesn't happen. If the Lescott deal goes ahead

Without Lescott
Johnson/ Zab Micah/Dunne Onouha/Kompany Bridge

With Lescott
Johnson / Zab Micah/Kompany Onouha / Lescott Bridge

MH has already said that Barry can play left back in case bridge injured.

Definitely a good thing - if nothing else when other teams' fans start their usual crap about you're buying success blah blah blah we can throw back that at least we have a team of mostly British and Irish lads and not a starting XI of foreigners! Particularly effective against the goon-ers for one...

Plus we have the 6+5 rule coming up... (do Welsh and/or Irish players count as part of the six as well as English? )

I know theres another thread - but i'd be interested in your thoughts.....Portsmouth [richest club in world pt2] have had a bid for Johnson......maybe us or Chelski but he wont go back there........would people be pleased if we got him presumably to replace Richards? I would be dissapointed as for all the big signings its nice to keep home grown players...Micah had a poor season but he's young and will get back to the standard he first set...........I'd rather keep him and bring in CD to play along side him rather than replace him. In saying that I do like Johnson, but I think defensively he's not that strong, more as an attacking full back. SWP can do that on the right.
Slate me or give me your [mature] thoughts please

Maybe you should try reading the other thread were all of your points above have already been discussed at length.

well why did you read this one? - sometimes people don't have time to rifle through endless threads - most postings which are just people slagging off each other for not having identical points of view...........

no time to rifle but plenty to type??????

typing takes a milisecond

probably, given that he's a top professional manager who has been looking to come to england for over a year, johnson is an international player, ohh, and his team played portsouth earlier in the year.

Micah is not ready yet for CB his reading of the game needs to improve(defensively)

I think foreign youngsters brought through the academy count as well..
