Benjani plus Johnson for £6m? Peanuts, we need to keep our good young players. Drug rumours aside, put an arm round him and get him back in the squad. We don't need the money let's show we are more interested in our youth policy than wayward transfer speculation.

keep them for what?
he's way down the pecking order, always injured and apart from about 4 games at the start of last season he's done nothing.
deadwood but he's not on his own

Am I alone in finding some of the anti Johnno rhetoric pathetic. He is a hugely talented young plaayer who could well be an influential player for years to come. The anti johnno brigade base this hate campaign on whispers and rumour and not fact.Twelve months ago these same people were likely as not writing off Stephen Ireland.

FFS give the lad a break, get behind him, we may see a great talent immerging in the not too distant future

i base it on him having about 4 good games last season and never getting into a game the way someone with 'such talent' should,i think the word 'hiding' springs to mind.
couldn't give a fuck about his alleged off the field problems, the lads not good enough

It has been well documented on here that Johnson had has his problems, but letting him go to another premier league club for 6m plus Benjani would be a very bad piece of business IMO. Maybe a 6m figure without Benjani may be more suitable but considering only a year ago he was one of the brightest young talents the club has had in a long time it does seem silly to be throwing him away for peanuts.

doesn't matter who he goes to pal,he can't hurt anyone if he's never on the pitch.
let him be someone else's problem

For me it is frustrating that Hughes on at least 3 occasions this year has said the he is 1/2 weeks away from action and then nothing.
He played really well at Sunderland this year so he has the ability.
If he is being sighted in Casinos, Night Clubs etc.. each night then the club must sort it out ASAP as at the minute it is a waste of a good talent.

In my opinion he is a quality player. If Danny S got injured tomorrow and didn't play again until next year would you jump all over him also? Where is the proof that he is burning the candle at both ends?

I truthfully hope that he shakes off his injury and gives us another option in midfield because we fucking need it.

i'll be very surprised if Danny S is still here this time next year

Is that a joke??

He's class, he's 19 and we have the best young English striker on our hands.

2 words, Aston Villa. Stick by your good young players and compliment them with some PROVEN experience. No Corradis and Bianchis, just Messis and Agueros. Johnson and Sturridge will thrive in a squad like that. They would be proud to be involved, thats what we are missing in my opinion.

Agree. We missed him sorely when he got injured last year. He's box to box, and to buy someone to fill that role would cost £10+.
What's point in getting rid for £3m???

sentiment will win nothing

and Dunnie for that matter, I guess it's a judgement call by those running the club and one thing I will give Hughes, he seems to have a high tolerance for some of the really worst low lives that play the game so if he pulls the plug, I think it would be a fair shot.
