And can I just throw in a rather boring comment that net zero by any time soon - i.e. within decades is absolute complete and utter bollocks. We have less than the cubed root of fuck all chance of actually achieving it. Waste Of Time.
(a) We can only fleetingly produce 50% of our current electricity requirement, and that's when it's windy and the sun shines. Fucked when it's dark and no wind.
(b) Spot the common mistake here?
Question 1 about *energy* and the answer given about *electricity*, which is only a small subset. Currently something like 93% of our heat energy is from fossil fuels. And 90%+ of our transport energy.
There is no way on planet earth we can grow our renewables to meet these requirements. Nuclear is the only viable solution and it will take many decades to bring the necessary nuclear capacity on stream, even assuming we decided to do so, which we haven't.
And ALL of this, simply to reduce global CO2 emissions by less than 1%?
It's all a complete sham and anyone believing any of it, has been conned. We're not doing it and it's all a load of bollocks anyway. Glaciers have been melting since 1850 after we came out of the last mini ice age. Fuck all we can do about it.
