If you're delighted that WBA are playing hard ball and hoping we move on, can you suggest an alternative centre back who is:

Experienced
Home grown
left footed

That is the criteria that saw us bidding for Evans so please suggest a viable alternative.
Exactly, whisky nose loved him, and was reportedly really pissed off when Van Gaal sold him, Wenger was considering a £35 million bid for him not so long ago & now obviously Pep rates him. I personally don't give a fuck if he played for the scum. He fits the bill perfectly, is apparently an absolute top professional, a diamond to work with and if three of the most successful managers of recent times rate him then who am I to argue? Get the lad signed.

Why are you naming Ramos and Varane? Their back ups are Vallejo, a 20 year old who has never played a game for them, and Nacho, a 27 year old with 81 league appearances for them in 8 years.

I answered your question as did the next poster.

You answer mine.

There comes a time when we have to walk away if WBA keep rejecting our offers. I actually don't mind the idea of Evans coming in. Ex-rag or not he would be a sensible option to cover Kompany if he gets injured, but only at the right price. However the only other option that fits with homegrown and experienced tags is Ryan Shawcross. And that's a no from me.

Evans is at least as good as Nacho if not better.

Well transfermarkt value Naco as more than double Evans. I guess Real Madrid are kicking themselves missing out though ;-)

If Barca RM or Bayern had gone for a WBA player would you not think it strange? Why is it different for us giving our ambitions.

Maybe he will be a success but we can't pretend this is a no brainer. No blue was suggesting this before we were linked so it can't be that obvious an answer.

Listening to Pulis just now, I'd say its on the cards but at a ridiculous cost. Don't we have any other options?!

I agree that he fits the bill in terms of being experienced, home grown and left footed at a 'relatively' low price, however when you get a 6 match suspension for spitting at an opponent, you can hardly be described as 'an absolute top professional'.
