I watch every game on the box and he has been playing for a side who have everyone behind the ball and hoof it away, how he can suddenly become comfortable on the ball playing in a pep team that demands they play like john is totally beyond me
WBA play hoof ball but does Evans? Most hoof ball teams seem to have one or two players with a bit of skill

Put the money up for Toby Alderweireld now, why wait. Offer £40 - £50m and try and obtain him now.
Their capture of Davinson Sanchez should ease the pain of losing Toby.
I hope we don't go any higher than £20m on Evans, we can use Fernandinho as cover at CB and if need be, bring Maffeo back as home grown cover at RB.

No mate you're wrong and being unfair to the lad. He has pace is good in possession and is West Brom's capt. everyone has failed to see this previous especially Utd who have been regretting his sale for years. They'd have him back if they could. You need to start seeing the investment here. Even if he doesn't play much he's a snip at 25mil and his intelligence on the field makes him the perfect mentor for stones. Did I mention he is homegrown as well. This is the signing many city fans are most excited about and it might mean that we are signing someone else as well because if it's only 25mil we must have Sanchez in the bag. Wenger wanted him last year, pullis can spot a good defender as well.
He has only passed it out when not under pressure his whole career. You know it, I know it and every rag knows it.
As to being an investment? Give over. £28m for a 29 year old is not an investment for his age. It will also leave us with 3 CBs over the age of 30 at the end of the season. Not good.
If you're paying that much you may as well go the full hog and pay a lot more for a younger edition.

I haven't seen a huge amount of him but I was under the impression that his weaknesses were more to do with the basics of defending rather than lacking skill

Think Bondsman was taking the piss tbh. I don't think he's a fan, looking at his other posts.
