Not sure that's fair. Most people think we're over-paying for an average PL player. Are you expecting people to be overwhelmed?

He ain't going to get better, at some point it would be nice if we took a gamble on our own.

It's not a signing I'm particularly enthused about either, to be honest. I just think some people are being absurd, bearing in mind he'll be our fourth choice centre half. Talking about giving up season tickets etc is ridiculous.

Sam Lee's article says that once we get Evans and another forward (Mbappe/Sanchez etc). We will turn our focus on replacing Yaya and possibly Fernandinho. As well as getting a marquee CB. So even if we get Evans. We could still sign a world class CB next summer.

Sounds great. But can't see how our youngsters are going to get any chances to break through.

29, ex rag, shite, £25m? Only Txiki is crazy enough to sanction such a deal. Then sell outgoing players for peanuts... Oh well 12 months down the line he'll be on loan to Middlesbrough with City paying his wages in full for a season or two, yet another unsellable.

"Evans is a good CB" only on Bluemoon. I remember reading encouraging messages of support for Nolito, Mangala etc in the past. "Terrific player, strengthens team" Rocked up and were crap.

Oh don't get me wrong..I despise the rags with every sinew of my being..but Evans doesn't play for them..don't see what all the fuss is about

If he signs and plays well..that's all that matters

If he doesn't he won't play..it's not rocket science

Would rather have him as cover than no incoming centrebacks at all
This! If Evans puts on our shirt he'll get ALL the love and support that's warranted as long as he puts in a shift. Hes actually very good at his job, as was Tevez. Fergie, Arsene and, so it seems, Pep rate him! Admittedly he's beyond being a worldy but he'll most certainly do a job. (Yes, I also cringe that he's tainted red!)

Tosin hasn't been loaned out at all. He has no first-team experience for anyone, and it would be risky for us and overwhelming for him if he just got thrown into the deep end (even against lower table teams). Best thing to do is loan him out to get some first-team experience and sign someone else to be a stopgap in his absence - Evans.

How do you know that?

Just a hunch, like the club as we've offered him a new contract.

We're definitely being managed badly if that's high up on the list of criteria.

Maybe, but I'd prefer a player who loved the club rather than a mercenary, thanks.

How do you know that?

Played with great players at Manure whilst in his prime and was always a fall back option, not first choice. His best days are behind him, we're not exactly on a fight for his signature with another top 4 club.

We're definitely being managed badly if that's high up on the list of criteria.

Not arsed he's a RAG, just rank average.

Are u taking the piss out of dunny there?? we could do with someone like him now seriously! he gave 100% week in week out and was outstanding pretty much every week in a poor side. IMO he's in my top 3 central defenders ever to play for us in my lifetime.

He'd be perfect for Pep's "total football":

Nothing against Evans but how about this? - keep Mangala, get a defensive coach, coach him up to Evans' standard (come on!), and return the 15 million or so to the fans.

I will ask you the same question I can't get an answer too:

Can you tell us your opinions of his strengths and weaknesses, and why he won't fit into our squad?

Swear to fuckin god, if I read one more price comparison between Evans and Mangala, I'll off myself.

Is Evans WB's best player? - Yes
Do WB desperately want to keep him? - Yes
Are they majorly fucked losing him this late in the window? - Yes

Is Mangala our best player? - No
Is he even our best defender? - No
Alright, is he even our starting CB? - No
Fuck it, do we even want to keep him at the club? - No
Are we fucked if he leaves? - No
Is he on high wages? - Yes

I wonder why the fuck Evans is going for 25 and Mangala for 10 because it sure is one tricky question. State of this forum.

You're also strangely missing out the amount of posters who were unenthused by Yaya, thought Silva would be too weak, said we should walk away from the De Bruyne deal because it was taking too long, thought Sane was shit and the list goes on.

You're painting a very specific picture of this forum in order to add weight to your tantrum but, when you look at it as a whole, the general opinions of members of this site has no actual bearing on the quality of a signing.

That's it? Mentally stronger? Far stronger??
I agree. There is not much I can tell you either. Not much as in nothing.
Mangala is highly error-prone, positionally suspect, has shown no particular leadership skills and lacks any passing range or vision. Is that clearer?

Do you think anyone from the Club follows Bluemoon ?
If they do, then they must be able to read the majority view against - why sign a guy supporters are overwhelmingly against joining ?
Crazy ..end it now !

its not just him being a rag player we have had loads before but its the lad is not that good yes bottom to midtable of the league teams but this is top level and you need to be ready to coming in and make a good show of it when pep needs you i just don't see it and why spend £25million on a gamble or a cover player its just daft

Phil Jagielka would be a good shout and would be free or a small fee and somewhere down the line i think he is a blue

The fact that Evans is an ex-rag has nothing to do with peoples opinion on here, not mine for starters. Imo Evans is simply an average defender who has improved to reasonably decent for West Brom in a defensive line up that Pulis let his team play. With all his 'experience' (hardly an asset when the rags won their title with him in the squad) the big question is if he, at 29 and not used to play in a 3 men defence and a high line up, is able to tranform within a year to the demands Pep has for his defenders.
Ok, Mangala might not be up to it, at least he's giving it a try during preseason and did quite well actually. He might be on his way and than there's no use question yourself if Mangala was any better. That question will than be going to the next in line, Tosin. One of our own, one that is overly eager to make the step and won't mind spending more time on the bench if he gets his minutes when possible. Surely he will have raise his eyebrows when reading we are after Evans. I'd rather we take a gamble on Tosin than spending an extra 10-15 million by selling Mangala and getting Evans in. Great deal by the way. Again.

Can you point me to a post of yours predating the Evans story where you say we don't need another defender because Tosin can be the 4th choice CB?

Because if not, your hysterical, "what about Tosin" stance is shown to be just more bullshit because you dislike Evans, and if a player who you fancy had come in, you wouldn't be mentioning Tosin at all.

Can you point me to a post where I said we need another CB?
Dislike for Evans, I probably haven't mentioned his name for years until he was linked to us.
