Jonny Evans

people saying they've watched west brom and evans is shit, when west brom fans think he's been their best player since he arrived ???????????????????????? are some people talking bollox to get their point across ????

For a player that could hold his own in the City team if he goes then £25M does seem a tad cheap as he's better than a few they've got IMHO.

If Boro can rate Gibson at £30 million, Stones cost £50 million or whatever, then Evans is easily in the best 10 defenders in the Premier and would in my opinion command a fee comparable and equal to either of those mentioned. I cannot believe that our lot would settle for less.

If true it'll be 25m plus 5m. Take it I say. He's been a Rolls Royce of a defender bur it was only a matter of time before someone bigger and richer came in. Given his age and injury record (which will only get worse) it's time to sell big.

Interesting, here's a sentence from an article when Arsenal were after him last year. "Arsenal have reportedly been told by West Bromwich Albion that they will have to pay £25m in order to sign defender Jonny Evans".
I hope it falls through because this guy is hard to replace for many reasons, experience, composure, reading the game etc

on that web site some says deal done £25m
Does it really matter? It's you who is talking bollox. Every club has their best player. So why don't we buy some other striker from a mid table club instead of Sanchez just because they are supposedly their "best player".

Aye. He stands out, as those around him are hoof merchants. At least Evans can control the ball before leathering it upfield ;-)

I was pointing out that he has been excellent according to the wba fans and some people on bluemoon saying he's been shit to suit their reason for not wanting him

He is great in a very defensive mid table team,we are the opposite, high line and not parked in front of his own goal,he is not suited and that's that

We want to be at the level of Barca, Bayern, Real, PSG etc.

Would they sign players like Evans?

I was speaking to a Baggies fan about Evans, they really don't want to lose him and think he's worth every penny of £25-£30m. He said he couldn't believe they'd got him so cheap a couple of years ago.

I think we're already better than PSG. Pretty sure all these teams have at least two or three first team players who wouldn't be good enough for us too.

Ignoring Evans's rag past, I think he'd be a decent squad signing, he's no worse than Otamendi.

He might turn out to be very good for us, if he comes. I hear people saying, oh but he's used to playing in the protection of a bus parking side etc.
How do we know that's not constraining him. He might flourish, playing alongside better players and having Pep's coaching methods.

Ah but we have been told already that Pep can't work miracles and his coaching methods won't improve Tosin and I have long held the opinion that more game time with better players will bring the kids on rather than them stagnating in the eds or with a poor loan but that doesn't count either apparently.

Listening to a lot of ex players over the last week and I've not heard any of them knock the transfer as a bad move in fact the majority of them say it would be a great move for him and the club as they think he is very underrated and was very unlucky to have been binned by the rags. And this includes numerous city ex players by the way. People need to get over the he played for United shite. These guys are professionals at the end of the day. And forget the price that is just the way this stupid transfer market is going.

I'll just leave this here...

Don't ask why karren;-)

That's just Ferguson doing a bit of in game management. He's telling him to "fuckin waken up". That doesn't necessarily mean that he's shit. That's a CL game, if he was as shit as people believe then,
A) Ferguson would have subbed him off.
B) He wouldn't have picked him in the first place.
That clip proves nothing.

Exactly what makes me laugh on this forum is the amount of hate because he's played for Man shite, who cares if he puts on a blue shirt he becomes a blue, didn't tevez play for them however there's no mention of that, not saying for one minute Evans is tevez, however they did wear the same shirt end of argument really
Give over it's the facts that
1. He'll be 30 this season. Any more than £20m is far too much cash wasted.
2. He's also not fast enough as he would be killed with our high line against a rapid counter attack.
