Would never have been as bad buy as people thought at the time.

Don’t think not getting him as hold us back, but he would have done a job and our scouting department was not wrong.
I agree, and i never joined in the pile on when we were linked. He would have done a very good job for us,especially last year when we were on our arse defensively.

Definitely, he has proved his worth at Leicester. Might have solved the CB issue much earlier than now as well.

We should go back in for him now he’s out of contract and Leicester are down. If we want to go for the quadruple we’ll need to reinforce and he’s the perfect candidate to take us to the next level.

There's 2 things that post makes me wonder about:
1) what was the oldest back four in PL history??
2) oh and WHY THE FUCK HAS THIS THREAD REAPPEARED??
Mods - please lock it for God's sake

Oldest defence has to be one of the very best ever and most reliable ones as a unit.

Dixon
Winterburn
Adams
Keown

With porno tash Seaman behind them too increasing the teams average age.

Steve Bould replacing Adams or Keown, plus even John Lukic replacing Seaman I honestly can't think of an older backline, might be wrong there but doubt it's even close... I think other teams probably had at least a young defender to balance out any old defences.

At its oldest appearance that arse back four, it was probably close to 140 together and 175 or close when you add porno tash behind them.
