I know pace doesn't mean much with the way we play but he looks Gundogan levels of slow.

He looks to play like a Gundogan more than a Fernandinho?

Would have preferred Fred or Fabinho myself but Pep know's best.
Pep has said we are replacing yaya, dinho signed an extension so we have till next season to think about dinho's successor

Nail on head Karen! It’s been said countless times as well but people keep bringing up the same point!

I'd say he's slightly faster than Gundogan and Fabinho which, incidentally, is still significantly faster than Busquets has been for a long time, and he's probably the model we should be holding up and trying to replicate. Pace is not essential in this role, it's more about intelligence.

Pep's Barcelona, arguably the most suffocating team ever, had a midfield of 3 slow physically weak players. Just watch them to get the idea.

When the team squeezes the space, you don't need your mids to be pacy as there's simply nowhere to run in the heart of midfield. The most important qualities in this conditions are vision, positioning and ability to evade the press. It's Jorginho's strongest points, he'll be an upgrade on Dinho for this particular system.

It's not, Jorginho will play a hell of a lot more than yaya did last season and the majority of those game will be in Fernandinho's position they will probably get around 35 games each and after next season Fernandinho's game time will reduce . Not to say they won't play a few together.

Imagine slagging a player off over a meaningless international friendly in a B team under a new manager days before he's hoping to secure the biggest transfer of his career.

This. Also, systems make a huge difference - as seen with Sané.
