Jorginho

I think he will be great in helping us get control in tight games (a bit like Bernardo sometimes does when he drops deeper) but agree that he is not a swap for Fernandihno. Probably an upgrade on Gundogan if he can adapt to the Premier League. Let's wait and see. Napoli were fantastic for most of last season but ran out of steam.

I thought he was replacing Yaya Toure..................but I stand to be corrected by more knowledgeable folk on here.

It's actually fucking hilarious reading some of the comments on here when people have recently seen Jorginho actually play when having previously not studied him, after him being linked to City, & seen what he actually is, compared to the all singing dancing, utter bullshit version the computer neds dish out, who never loses the ball & can do all manner of things which will ensure Liverpool etc can't beat us.

Reality is , he's a fucking good player who will almost certainly add another dimension to our squad, same as Gundogan (who unfortunaltely got injured) was.

No guarantee at all he can replace Fernandinho, but he can try, & is good enough to try & replace one of the world's best, & might actually be able to play with him anyhow, so: very good signing (in theory).

Pep knows what he's doing and will improve Jorghino 80% when he gels with the team, it's not all about pace, he's more of a great passer, he keeps it ticking over, he did score against us in the champions league so he has a goal threat as well.

He's not a replacement; he's a quality potential addition to an already talented squad, creating additional options and depth.

Taking penalties is a goal threat?

Jorginho is many things, but a goal threat is not one of them! He’s scored 6 goals in the last 5 years, in all competitions.

“Goal threat”!!?

ha ha, I thought he scored from open play, my mistake anyway all this negativity n he hasn't even signed yet.

Hopefully he can because Fernandinho chipped in with about 5 last year
Fernandinho gets about five a season but I can already tell that if Jorginho gets anything less than 15 next year he'll be branded a failure and Pep will be scrutinised for not getting Fabinho.

Seen Napoli many times this season, quality player, reminds me more of Silva than those who say he is more like Ferny. Eye for a pass is great, can unlock teams with ease. Hopefully we get this one over the line, a great addition to an already top squad.

Yep! Pep obviously wants Jorginho as his number one choice so there will be reasoning behind that and pep has earned the right to keep his master plan going!

I dont expect him to get 15 goals a season.....thats not what his game is about! He helps others get more goals....a bit like a QB that passes to a WR or hands off to a RB....his style of play will helps others get more goals. I think he's a good player, just felt there was better options out there that offered more flexibility.

I remember david batty scoring against us didn't make him a goal threat :)

Jorginho 'can be considered a Man City player'
Italian media outlet CalcioMercato report that Napoli’s sporting director will be in London this morning to sign off the Jorginho deal. Today could well be the day...

+1

My opinion is that there was better options but after last season, dont think anyone can question Pep's master plan!;)
