Jorginho

Think he was happy mate....reportedly already agreed 5 year deal with us weeks ago....we just couldnt get deal done with Napoli and Chelsea were willing to pay (by the looks of things)

He couldn’t of been that committed as he could refuse to sign for anyone else. He’s giving up Champions league football for starters.

This is a ridiculous thing to say. He may well be 100% happy to be part of our squad, but if Napoli don't want to sell him to us, what is he supposed to do??

Q - Jorginho, would you like to play for City
A - Yes, I'd love to work with Pep at City, please make it happen
Q - If for some reason its not possible to go to City would you be happy to play for Chelsea?
A - Well I'd prefer City really, but if its impossible then yes Chelsea is a good club, good wages, London etc, so ok, but I would prefer City
Q - Well your club has accepted a bid from Chelsea and that's final

Add to that:
A - (to City) I really want to play for you - will you match Chelsea's bid?
Q - No way Jose, we've got our limits
A - Well obviously you don't want me as much as Chelsea then (flounces off in a huff to London)

Simply trust in Pep and not the “click bait” press.......not 100% committed, then better go to a team without Champions League football.

Could just as easily be going to City London office or plane from London to Manchester, we will see soon either way.

Have a feeling he will still be on his way to City especially with the Chelsea situation being unclear on many levels.

Fabinho gone, Fred gone, Joringho (likely gone!), Seri (likely gone).......??? Your guess is as good as mine mate!;)
What other world class players are there in that role ? Only one i can think of is Casimero and there is no chance of getting him, would be a fortune..

Some have mentioned Carvalho dont personally think he would be up to the job but likely to be cheap considering the situation at Sporting.

NZonzi wasnt that good when he played for Stoke and think he's overrated at Sevilla.

What about Wanyama, yes its dealing with Leavy, but he knows the english game, physical, plays in a team high pressing system at Spurs. But wont be him as Pep "doesnt like african players" allegedly.

thats the thing i don`t get? roman is talking about walking away, they have no champions league, a squad that needs a complete overhaul and their top player wants out?

well whatever happens we 100% need a DM type player of top quality this summer.

Given how many meaningful minutes Yaya played last season, it's not like it's the end of the world. Assuming Fred and Jorginio were plans A and B, the club will have a Plan C or Pep will improvise.
No left backs would have been more concerning at this time last season, but that didn't turn out that bad did it?

Well, if true and, as seem highly likely now, he is Chelsea bound, it certainly makes the next few weeks interesting, to say the least, especially on here. Who do we move on to, if anyone, at this relatively late stage? Do we go with what we already have and save the money for future dealings? Does Pep have a contingency plan to solve the ‘help Fernandinho out’ issue from within the existing squad? Will we see ‘experiments’ in this regard during our pre-season games? With Mahrez now (mercifully) signed and secured, perhaps we should thank Jorginho for keeping these transfer threads ‘buzzing’ for the next few weeks. Wouldn’t be the same without the frantic and fevered transfer speculation right to the very end of the window.
