Jorginho

We've cocked this up apparently. Trying to negotiate down a few million again and in longer installments, after we'd pretty much already agreed a fee at one point. Oh well. Bit gutted as i was personally quite excited cos he was perfect for us.

All the flapping on here made no sense we didn’t miss out on the player over a couple mil the player strung us along. All the best to him Chelsea isn’t heaven with the management team they got

But adl just said the fee was agreed 2 weeks ago..

mateo kovacic. Simple. We will test the water with Real. He is younger than jorginho and quicker. All this he's not good enough etc is total rubbish. He's a top top player that has contributed but not played regular. Pep will transform this guy into a worldy.
Has everyone not looked at what this genius has done to Delph, Sterling etc.
Come on blues get a grip. We're the champions and have Mahrez to break down the packed defensive. We have players who will be fresh for the new season. Oh and dinho isn't a pensioner just yet lol

As others have said we have Delph, Danilo, Gundo to cover Fern so it's not a desperate situation. Probably says a lot about the character of Jorginho more than anything else. He would have a harder time getting into the City side than Chelsea. If we get someone else great, if not no sweat, we still have the best manager to deal with the options

Any ideas Steven who else we might be looking at ?

How do you work this out. The president himself has said we agreed a deal 15 days ago.

Jorginho himself decided he wanted to live in London not Manchester

So Laurentis is bull shittinng then

Your flapping here. Us forcing their hand is better than our hand being forced in every transfer - you have to stand your ground somewhere.

We have the same 1st 11. Add Mahrez remove Yaya and we are better. Gundo and Delph are midfielders just like Fdinho and are capable to stand in, Fdinho is very difficult to replace - i'm not convinced Jorginho was a like for like anyway, he won't be better than Kante at Chelsea.

There's so much bad logic in here it's painful.

"We have the same 1st 11." - Except it's weaker, it's older, a bunch of key players have had shorter offseasons.

"Add Mahrez remove Yaya and we are better." - That's not how it works. You can't just keep removing defensive midfielders for wingers and pretend you're better.

"Gundo and Delph are midfielders just like Fabinho and are capable to stand in" - Well lets just hope the incredibly injury prone Mendy doesn't get another injury and can immediately play 3x a week for 9 months, or Gundogan gets another injury, or David Silva or KDB suffer after a shorter summer, because you've now booked 2 players to cover about 5 positions on the pitch.

"i'm not convinced Jorginho was a like for like anyway, he won't be better than Kante" Why are you comparing 2 completely different midfielders who will do completely different jobs at Chelsea?

This isn't flapping, it's accepting that we need a proper cover/replacement for Fernandinho, and sticking your head in the sand shouting "didn't want him don't need him" is not the answer to not signing Jorginho.

We need another midfielder to play that role, we have a very short amount of time to get it done.

Hardly a cock-up when everything was agreed before the lad went on his holiday. There was no last-minute bargaining.

The player has had the final say - no amount of money can change that.

You do have to ask the question - does he play for Italy because he's not good enough to play for Brasil?

tbh I am not disappointed, just a little bit concerned that Txiki showed a little naivety in going after a Napoli player, we have been here before back when Bobby was the manager (Lavezzi, Cavani, Hamsik), De Laurentis is a fucking crook and I am glad we didn't get Jorginho, read through my past posts here on the transfer forum, I've never really rated the guy, I just didn't see it! I always wanted us to go for Fabinho over this guy but that's old news now. The good news however is that PEP is the boss and we have some very promising talent coming in or already here, if we decide to look inwards then we can look to the following players: Claudio Gomes kid is built like a tank and I am sure Pep can turn him into a perfect DM, there's also Douglas Luiz, Gundo has also done the business in that position so we have enough cover there right now, if we decide to dip our hands into the transfer market then we can look to Ndombele and Kovacic, for an older, more experienced DM we can try to snap up Matuidi, at 31 he should come relatively cheap.
Since when? Has he grown ivdr the last year? Remember him looking tinyin his videos
