You know fuck all like the rest of us,so stop speculating !!

Bit harsh that Oakie. Isn't 'speculating' what this forum is 100% about? As you allude to, none of us are in any way informed. Should we only open threads and offer our opinions once the player has signed?

If report is correct, we've already moved on to plan B....this will likely cost us even more so not sure how realistic this is.

With Jorginho heading to Chelsea, Manchester City have promptly turned their attention to Mateo Kovacic (24), the Real Madrid midfielder they inquired about more than a week ago. [The Times]

Extremely unrealistic imo and would cost €70-80m!

Absolutely mate....and if we've now got that to spend, "I believe" we could have closed Fred/Jorginho alot sooner..I think we need a DM and the club must feel the same after spending 2 months working on Jorginho. Kovacic is not a DM and a completely different type of player.

Agreed. Seems like total bull to me. Not sure I’d even want him for the price he’ll cost. Not a huge fan of getting ‘cast offs’ from the biggest clubs either.

Are we still holding the cash in reserve if Hazard/Mbappe becomes available? And then after 3 weeks negotiating until end of transfer window Real or United or someone else would come in and close the deal in 3 days...

All this talk that clubs are now forced to learn that they cant mess with City and we wont overpay isnt gonna make them learn anything but we are going to miss out on number of great players.

As long as I'm not quoting it as "fact"....le see an issue. Many hold back because of the backlash they feel they will get from some on here...

That’s fine but we really have no idea who City are interested in buying. All we have is the occasional twitter comment and some usually ill informed guesss from loads Billy Nonowts and I include leading journalists but many on here are so needythat they take these snippets as gospel then decry the transfer policy of City as shit when transfers are one to their timetable

I am sure Pep is fully informed and a strategy will be in place to give him all the tools he needs so discuss any transfer by all means but let’s not rant just because things aren’t done to an unknown timeframe

Agreed up to a point mate but I think city’s main argument is that everything was agreed and if you go against or back out of an agreement then they either hold you to the said agreement or walk away?

I say this in a positive way for the club....maybe they just feel their new approach to transfers and the hardline they now set, is more important to them, than missing on some of their targets. There guys are experienced in negotiating deals and will know the risk and clearly confident enough to feel, another option can be found. Frustrating for us fans but got to respect that approach.

Jorghinio is not a DM, he is a playmaker like David Silva, but plays deeper with his starting position being in front of the back 4.

Understand where you coming from mate...personally would never take "twitter" comments as gospel but some of them are excellent talking points for discussion. If I'm honest, I did have an issue with the brief we seemed to make yesterday tho, maybe that got me ranting!;) I get the feeling this thread will be closed in the next 24-48hours!;)

We just have to accept that we can't sign everybody, that's just the way it is.

Yeah good point. Admirable stance to take, but player + agent won't wait forever to see if we can haggle couple of mill off the price, especially if there is another attractive offer on the table.

One thing we should have learned is never take a players/agents word on anything to do with a transfer, Alves, Sanchez and now Jorginho ( if he does go to the Chavs.) until they sign on the dotted line.

To be fair some of the terrible business we’ve done in the past its going to take a fair while for clubs to get the message that we’re no push over and won’t be robbed by players clubs or agents
