According to a source called Sport Bible Mourinho has been paid about £30 million by Levy, and around £93 million for his accumulated sackings. Not sure how exaggerated this is and how serious that source is. But if it's even half, that's quite some reward for not actually doing your job well. Difficult to think of any other field where you get rewarded for being incompetent.

He probably had another payout due if he won a trophy and they thought it was easier to get rid now (and cheaper) than see if he won it on Sunday and then sacked him in the summer. Plus his ego would have dined off how he was the first to win anything with Spuds in a decade.
