He is a top manager who requires a chequebook, just like every other top managers.

He spent loads at Chelsea in order to win trophies, but his own ego blinded him to that fact, believing himself some miracle worker coach that can turn middling clubs into European giants. That's why he took the job at the Old Toilet, and Spurs later. He seemed to have rejected PSG before, inferring from part of his 'football heritage' speech, which actually could've been perfect for him.

That said, the league is alot more entertaining with him around, especially off-the-pitch.
