Jose Mourinho

Club statement:

The Club can today announce that Jose Mourinho and his coaching staff Joao Sacramento, Nuno Santos, Carlos Lalin and Giovanni Cerra have been relieved of their duties.

Chairman, Daniel Levy, said: "Jose and his coaching staff have been with us through some of our most challenging times as a Club. Jose is a true professional who showed enormous resilience during the pandemic. On a personal level I have enjoyed working with him and regret that things have not worked out as we both had envisaged. He will always be welcome here and we should like to thank him and his coaching staff for their contribution."

Ryan Mason will take First Team training today and a further update will follow in due course.

That definitely sounds as if he did refuse to take training! Clubs usually say things along the lines of 'mutual decision', 'thanking him for his service' etc.

So, the biggest story to EVER hit football is NOT being talked about the DAY AFTER it was announced! really!

wake up! they set the agenda - they’re all in on it!

Nah don't worry. This is the appetizer in the morning. They'll be back on the Super League stuff once UEFA have their press conference.

I have a mate who's a Spurs fan and according to him Mourinho has been sacked in case he wins on Sunday! A lot of his salary was linked to success so they've got rid of him now as if they had won on Sunday he'd have been owed millions for winning his first trophy!

Spurs play Southampton on Wednesday. Kick off is at 18:00 so will probably watch to see how they set up before our game with them on Sunday.

This bit made me laugh " regret that things have not worked out as we both had envisaged" - he lost the dressing room, played crap defensive football and became very surly. Textbook Jose behaviour over his last few jobs

I wouldn't worry too much of new manager bounce on Sunday, it actually might work in our favour. I would now think it is less likely they will try and park the bus, exposing their weakest links defence and midfield

was always on the cards and before the league cup final ? spurs hoping for a good reaction from the players
