He's a great RB, there's no doubt, but he's arguably better at DM and stronger than Bayern's options there also. In fact, he said in an interview with FFT earlier in the year he see's himself as a DM long term, not a fullback, as it's his strongest and ultimately preferred position.

Have to wonder if he really is as comfortable playing anywhere or if he didn't just change his tune because Carlo took the hump and benched him. Didn't help he spent much of the interview praising Pep either.

It certainly seems like Ancelotti favours Rafinha, on the other hand, so maybe he really doesn't fully buy this "Lahm's full time successor" thing.

He'd be perfect for us. His ability as a CM or RB would be so invaluable to us. Wonder if he's the fourth option we've been looking at?

I'd like to think we're constantly chirping in his ear at least. Doubt it will come off but if he's unhappy, pounce on it.

According to the article, only a meeting with Carlo and a promise to be first choice RB has stopped him heading for the door for now. It seems Bayern might still shop for a Lahm replacement though, so who knows? This is yet another interview of Kimmich complaining essentially about Ancelotti, at what point does it become a cry for help?
