Joshua Kimmich

Surely that means very little when neither Bayern nor Barca are clubs that will easily sell their best players?

Looking at all our transfers, there aren't many from the very top clubs, so it's a small pool to say it's clear cut. Add in the fact that Thiago transferred from Barcelona to Bayern, and it becomes even less so.

Thiago was a very young player that did not get enough playing time at Barcelona and with Fabregas etc. in that team at that time it did not seem that he will get more later on. And he wanted out and could because the clause he had demanded for matches/matchtime he did not get in the season before he left. He would have gone to United - but Pep stopped that.

Kimmich - especially right now and for the sums that lunatic on twitter talked about just is total bullocks.

I wasn't commenting about Kimmich, rather the comment I replied to suggested Pep had a clear cut policy on never buying from his old clubs.

Given the number of players we've bought from top ten European clubs is tiny, and that he's bought Thiago, and as someone else pointed out, Bravo, then that clear cut policy doesn't appear to exist.

This would be an ideal signing in my opinion. It would take the pressure off Kovacic, bring in someone who could help further develop Rico and just generally replace the Gundogan hole in our midfield that appears at times. Pep rated him incredibly highly. He's versatile and absorbs his instructions like a sponge. But I still can't see it happening!

@tolmie's hairdoo you are apparently a Twitter lunatic now ;-)

Just a little reminder that Kimmich is a difficult personality. Most people forget that this is a top priority on City's scouting list - and makes us the winning team we are.

Kimmich is over-ambitous and free of humor, he is the opposite all the positive team players we gladly have.
Pep knows best and will be informed that Kimmich hasn't developed in the best way.

Apart from that he's not physical enough as a PL 6 and isn't interested in playing RB. He wants to play every match and won't be a steal at all.

Bottom line:
He's a perfect fit for Bayern or the Salford wannabes.

The hippity hoppity attitude of the overall squad is maybe one reason for some of our performances this season. Many of our seniors have left the first team. We might need a different attitude.

I still don't see the Bayern board ever ratifying a transfer to what they consider to be the Anti-Christ of European Football.
