Josko Gvardiol

I don't get this logic. Leipzig will have a set price for Gvardiol, so whilst it's not a release clause it's still a price we should have been aware of for weeks? How is it any trickier to pay the fee they want rather than activating a release clause?
A release clause is usually a low price, an asking price usually isn't.

Leipzig no longer need cash now so will play serious hardball here. Cant see us getting him this summer. We won't pay 100m

Liverpool have absolutely done us like a kipper here.

With them bringing in a quality player that will improve their side, they have made it ten times more difficult for us to get Gvardiol and as you say... Do they really need to sell him now?

They have literally killed two birds with one stone the dippers.

The Leipzig needing £££ was all exaggerated, based on a report from one unreliable source.

Hopefully we get Gvardiol, discussions on-going, has gone quiet but should here either way fairly soon.

Bit baffled at what is going on with our offseson. I thought we would come out all guns blazing after receiving all the prize money from the treble. Instead we seem a bit timid.

But it's still an asking price. It's still not going to change. Jack's release clause was higher than the Gvardiol asking price and the same as Rice's. We've known for weeks that Leipzig will be resolute with their demands so we either pay what they're asking or let an incredible talent go elsewhere.

Depends on the release clause. Jack's wasn't, Gvardiol's next season's isn't. Could keep listing examples.
Easier in the sense there is no negotiation needed, not always in terms of price.
