On top of £700mill in revenues according to Soriano.

We’ve just won the CL and done the treble. Money is rolling into the club. You’d think we would want to cement our position at the top by bringing in a couple of World class players asap, instead we seem to be fucking about with other clubs, their valuation of players, which they’re entitled to do, and penny pinching, whilst our closest rival Arsenal has spent £200mill strengthening their team and squad, and Liverpool have strengthened their midfield, which they needed to do.

Seriously, what is going on at City atm regarding buying players?
Come on jrb, you're just perpetuating the myth that City throw money at buying players, we don't.

Surely by now we realise that to stay at the top you have to spend your money wisely? Bringing in a couple of work class players asap is not a strategy that exists. There isn’t a club on the planet bar perhaps Real Madrid who seem to be able to execute that.

Just a thought but the only evidence we have that the deal was done and then delayed by a leak is Romano. Given that let’s look at what happened.

So here is my made up theory:

Romano says “Here we go” a phrase that is important to his business model. He turns out to be wrong because his information wasn’t reliable. You would think he would be annoyed and try to save face. Let’s throw the source of the leak under the bus and say that if the transfer doesn’t get done it’s the source’s fault.

In reality the clubs are still negotiating on a deal and are unaffected by what is going on with twitter.

Probably wrong but I thought I’d join in with a guess!

You're letting your opinion of Soriano cloud your judgement on all aspects of the club. Our transfer dealings over the last few years are second to none, hence our siccess on the pitch, while mot spending what others are spending.
