Joss Ackland RIP

Great character actor.
Got to a great age.
He played a Russian General on so many occasions I think his performances came to define the role. These days people even mimic him playing the role.
My favourite character of his - I think it has to be Jack Westerby in Tinker, Tailor, Solider, Spy on BBC2 in the late 70s opposite Alex Guiness.

His "Seth Efrican" accent was, er, different!
Which was surprising considering he actually lived there for a while.

I like the story of his father, who had been found to have seduced the family maid in Ireland and was then banished to England to live with an aunt. Whereby he seduced her maid too.
