Joy Division / New Order thread

Nothing on Joy Division but a great band still. Shame about them all being up their own arse....it's often reported that Hooky is the one who loves himself but through personal experience he's absolutely sound, always got time for a chat.

Mark Burgess of The Chameleons was saying something on facebook a few months back about seeing them over in LA and they didn't even come out and say hello to him...

anyway...

To be fair that reeks of self importance by Mark. Maybe he should have gone and said hello to New Order.

This remix for me...

Can't believe this wasn't a single. I think it could be my favourite track of theirs.

DD, i didn't think you'd have fell for me throwing that bit of bait out?

Or did you see through my game?
I saw through your game Barry ;-)

'You all forgot about rudolf Hess ! '

If you didn't already know, the band name "Joy Division" was taken from the name the Nazi troops gave to the field brothels on the Eastern front in WW2. Its understandable in the early days how the band were mistaken for Nazis.

Dreams Never End......I've done my 40 minute journey to work with that on a loop. One of my all time favourites. Also love the 7" version (33rpm) of Temptation.....beats all other versions hands down.

One of my all time favourite bands. Too many great tunes to list here.
Played the Technique album to death when it was released.

I still do. My favourite album of all time. Weren't they off their t*ts when they recorded it in Ibiza?

So the anecdotes say, yeah.

Marvellous album. Apart from the obvious, there's this gem:

Some great memories of seeing them (and the Mondays) live around this time

Think so mate. Can't imagine they weren't as it was the summer of '88 and the height of the acid house craze.

Not a single mediocre song on that album but Vanishing Point is the stand out track for me. I was surprised they never released it as a single.

The words interesting and Hooky in the sentence without the word isn't.........not something I thought I'd read.
