You don't know the appeal of joy division, and you have lyrics from the wombats in your profile
I think the main appeal of Joy Division is that their music sounds fucking ace.Watched the documentary last night, what was the big fuss about them?
Iain Curtis couldn't sing for shit and danced worse than Bez.
What is the appeal? Genuinely want to know what it is.
I am going to watch the documentary tonight. For the record I have always been and still am a lot more of a New Order fan than Joy Division fan. The thing with Joy Division is that they stood out as being totally different than everything else that was going on around them during that period. The songs have also stood the test of time and the production by Martin Hannett was astounding. I can't take Joy Division for long periods due to the doom laden nature of it, but they were light years ahead of everyone else.
Whether or not Ian Curtis could dance has nothing to do with the music and his singing is fantastic by Mancunian standards. The sad thing about Ian Curtis is that he meant every word he sang and it was only ever going to end one way unfortunately.
