Nah, not pissing on his chips, but what I said to describe him I have seen with my own eyes, deep down it won't be that much of hindrance at all, what did someone post earlier, we won a treble when he wasn't with us?

much needed changes in backroom staff, asked for it since at least 6 months this season. Pep needs help, if he wouldnt club would do everything to keep current staff together.

players and staff grew a bit comfortable, time for high energy environment with renewed hunger. to improve is to change. you dont get that with Lillo and this set piece coach we had.

Who said bully? I implied he's been influenced by Lillo, as are most managers by their assistants. And Pep has won more trophies without Lillo by his side than with.

He knows how Pep thinks and Pep absolutely loves the guy.
Only thing is I’m not sure he’s ready to stop his playing career quite yet (though many blues here probably wish he would…not me btw)

We have no idea how good he was and what his contribution was but do you think Pep want a lackey to walk over has been said in his book Marti Perarnu said that Pep and Lilo would have disagreements that would be quite heated so, from that insider knowledge we should assume that he was at the very least a good sounding board for Pep

Yes, I believe he would. Just like his players, he wouldn't stand in the way of anybody that wants to leave, he's always maintained that principle.

For his backroom staff, they generally get job upgrades which comes with better pay and they're not on several million a year to turn those chances down lightly.

There's just a handful of people that have decided they don't like his unbothered image he projects and have decided entirely in their own head that he doesn't do anything when the reality is they know absolutely nothing of his work to make those assumptions.

He's been a part of many trophy wins, he's left once and was welcomed back which should show he was highly regarded so let's just thank him for his efforts and wish him well instead of inventing a narrative he wasn't very good at his job.
 
Think it's hard to know how much of an influence an assistant has on the team without being on the training pitch regularly or part of the tactical discussions, which none of us are. So I think it's difficult to say how much or how little he's contributed to our success

That said he didn't strike me as the most assertive of characters. And as hunger/hard work/motivation has very much become a major issue for us, having an assistant who when filling in for the manager (for an incredibly short period of time) had zero interest and described himself as an "old man" is probably not the solution to this

I think him moving on is a good thing. We need freshening up and a kick up the arse. Things seem to have got too cosy at the club. Time for new ideas and a better attitude

In the grand scheme of things he's the least of our worries, there are quite a few others that are not very good at their job, hence a bit of a clear out this summer for those that matter the most, but that remains to be seen who

so whilst respecting your opinion. Everything you have said, is also a made up narrative other than believing what is written in MP’s book.
The fact is we will never know how influential he was or not. Frankly, I don’t really care either way.
