City will be quietly working away in the background.
As we all know the vast majority of journalists and football websites know f*ck all. Not one knew 100% that Haaland had picked City over Madrid before City started briefing their few ‘trusted’ press contacts that the transfer was done. Yet the Spanish Press and the Englaish press were still saying Madrid were still in the running to sign Haaland. Even Madrid didn’t make a comment to the press when Haaland decided on City and before City announced it.
If Bellingham has picked the Scousers, if, and FSG can find the money, City will know about it and will look at other targets. As with Haaland and VVD, once a players mind is made up, they don’t often change their mind.
Personally I think Liverpool have been working quietly on Bellingham for ages as they know he will hopefully solve their midfield problem. They are desperate for a player like Bellingham. And if FSG do smash the English transfer record and sign Bellingham, it will be a masterstroke, with the Scousers and the English football media in raptures.
If we lose Bernardo and ilkay next season, which looks probable, City will try for Bellingham. Our aces are Haaland, Foden and KDB. Why wouldn’t Bellingham want to play with and alongside those 3?
