I get it and some of the criticism is fair enough.
I just try and think as a neutral English fan so take a lot of delight in seeing the likes of Bellingham, Palmer, Foden, Saka and many more doing well for club but mainly country - I find it sad the level of hate and abuse these young lads receive constantly.

There are far too many fans of all clubs who think he’s an overhyped bellend for there not to be something in this.
I think he’s an excellent player but he wants to hog the limelight far too often.
He’s not at all humble
I seen him have many a stinker for club and country and the ultimate “who else” comment was a massive dig at his team mates.
From a personal note his dig at city was the icing on the cake for us city fans so can royally get to fuck.

I think we are mistaking the Ballon D'or for the Miss World beauty pagent. A player can have the nastiest attitude and yet if he has done enough on the pitch, he can go on to win the Ballon D'or. It's not a Miss congeniality award

Except that one of the three criteria for the Ballon D'Or is 'class and fair play,' neither of which Bellingham exhibits.
