Feel sorry for KK as it seems he really wanted the move but this transfer would make so much more sense.

That's the thing about playing for Italian sides, don't sign an extension when you have plans of moving on. The rumours that we were interested in KK didn't just come out now, its been there for a while and what did he do? he went on to sign a contract extension, dumb move, even talksport posted an article on this (although they replaced our interest with the rags https://talksport.com/football/407515/kalidou-koulibaly-new-five-year-napoli-contract/)! Fiorentina did it to Jovetic when Benitez tried to sign him for the dippers, a couple years later they tried playing that same card again when we came in for Jovetic, he had to turn down all offers to renew his contract with Fiorentina, that way they had to sell at a reasonable price. Serie A clubs practice this outdated shake down business strategy and its really destroying the league but they wouldn't see it that way, to them its good ol' machismo business.

If he’s the right guy, properly scouted, then yes we should pay what it takes. If it means we have to stop playing the football stock market for a year with signings for Girona then we should. It’s a clear weakness in our side and it looks like it’s at a good fee too, which is a bonus.
