Jules Koundé

It's funny, I've been pushing back the thought of not wanting KK because I know how much we need a solid CB... but now that I see this deal that could see us sign a young- motivated- quick talent with potential and many more years in City blue I truly do not want KK especially if we could send Ota the other way in a deal that I think would appeal to him as well (been here 5 years... deserves some manner of respect).

Ssooooo.....all that Messi stuff was just a smokescreen for negotiating with Sevilla for this kid. Cracking work by the City transfer team there.

To be fair, there were rumours earlier this month Txiki was sorting something out - we just thought it was a different Sevilla CB!

We’d almost have a full back 4 from France that don’t get in their National team’s 11. Just need Bellerin now for right back and we’re sorted.

Never watched him play but sounds interesting based on what others say about him.

Not saying we should not buy him, but I do think we need a leader at the back who communicates effectively with the rest of defenders. This is something we have missed since Vinny left. You could see from whenever Otamendi or Stones played last season (even with Laporte and/or Walker playing too), there were suggestions that communication was an issue (e.g. more than one of our players going for a header and not holding a line together).

If we do not get an experienced centre half, Laporte needs to show display leadership and communication skills.
