Thank God I was exempt.

yes im glad we don't have gay men on Jury's

imagine the amount of hairspray getting in peoples mouths

At least I wasn't kicked out. When the court announces the room to 'all rise' this doesn't mean revealing to the people in the room your hard cock. And when he announces for the next witness to 'take the box' it doesn't mean you bending over in anticipation and showing all an sundry you puckered starfish!!

Sorry Corky....it just slipped out. o_0

SWP you said that you have insurance to cover for illness, unable to work etc. does this not cover you for jury service as you are still unable to work? Worth looking into.
Also, cannot believe how many people have got away with not doing jury service. When I was called for jury service I had a 6 week old baby that I was breast feeding and still had to do it!

No afraid it doesn't BD. illness and injury only.

You still had to with a 6 week old? Madness.

Did you try and get out of it bluedancer I can't believe they made you do it .

I hated it we got followed to the met station by some family members on one case which was a bit intimidating, so the next day they let us out of the back doors .

A friend of mine did it and reckoned that the female barrister for the defence made the most of her stocking tops to woo the male jurors. Truth(well not under oath of course)
The defendant was cleared by the way.

If it was in Manchester then the barrister was probably my cousin. Wouldn't put it past her in a million years.

Is it worth me going down there then?

No. She is Canada now working as a Coroner.

Unfortunately yes, my husband was self employed so he had to take 2 weeks off to look after the baby, consequently losing money and contracts.
Sorry to hear that the insurance won't cover and understand your situation. As suggested by another poster, I would ask to defer it due to economic situation and how it will have serious effect on your business. Good luck!
