just a thought...actually a potential nightmare..

Here's a Rafa FACT
When he joined liverpool he had playing for them IMO one of the best and most consistent full backs in the league at the time Steve Finnan, now rafa being rafa bought in 3/4 right backs to replace him yet each time Finnan still kept his place which just about sums rafa up.Then after being voted on most fans web sites player of the year for the previous season Finnan was offered to villa in the swap deal with Barry without his knowledge, rafa couldn't buy a better player to shift him but decided to do it anyway.

The turn around of players was of epic proportions something like on average 8 first team players a season, imagine the numbers he could run up if the board backed him each transfer window.

All those players we see get named on the wish list in the transfer forum on here would arrive within 2 seasons and then shipped out within the next 2.

The only rafa facts anyone needs to know are,1 champions league and 2 spanish leagues.

If Mancini were to go,and i wouldn't want him to,Benitez as a replacement wouldn't be a disaster.

I don't disagree with the OP, apart from the Ballotelli part.

Why can't we stick with Mancini? Somebody said in another post earlier, it took baconface 6 years to win them down the road anything, and they were calling for his head well before that. Let's try and keep a manager for a couple of years shall we? We're not Chelsea.

Of course, if he's not willing to stick around for the somewhat long term, then fuck him, let's find someone who will.

Another interesting fact
In his wisdom the inherited champions league winning team was almost dismantled within 2 seasons only gerrard and carragher remained after 4.
He won a Fa cup in 2006 but just about dismantled that team again within 2 seasons and during the next 4 seasons he spent at anfield he won nothing.

Any other season and 80 points would have given us the League title and 10 points would have got us into the Champions League knock-out phase. We should not even consider letting Mancini go. He has family problems back home. Once they are resolved, one way or the other, he will be back to his best. Forza Mancini.

Any other season bar the ones where Chelsea got 95 points and the season when the rags got 90 odd and the season where both rags and Chelsea got 85 and the season where......etc etc.

80 points is hardly ever enough nowadays. Last season was an unusual one.

We wont get him. The only candidate that could take the job of Mancini is Jose. If he isn't available then we carry on with Mancini. He's in the last 12 months of his contract if we start the season and he hasn't been offered a new deal this summer then its obviously going to depend on if we win the league or not if he keeps his job. If we don't win it next year and Mancini is let go and Jose isn't available then lets hope we have 500 million spare for average players to buy ;).

The problem of course is you can't have your cake and eat it! If we are courting Jose - there is every chance he is playing us (again) and the very act of courting him will mean Mancini walks - so we may have to look at a third option.
