I have just opened a spam email from my Yahoo account and downloaded the attatchment.

Don't know if it is linked but the past few days - before opening the email - when I have clicked on a website it has been redirecting me to other sites instead of taking me to the site I actually want.

I put Norton on my laptop a few months back so how do I use this to get rid of whatever it is I have opened from the email? Cheers.

It is called a browser hijacker, mainly not very nasty but very annoying.

<a class="postlink-local" href="http://forums.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=229576" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">viewtopic.php?f=5&t=229576</a>

Try some of these here bud, the most hard hitting one i find to be combofix, lots of tools all in one click :)

Norton aint realy that secure anymore as they was in 09. Try to get free Kaspersky PURE (30 days trial) and use it only for mail and web protection. It s great for blocking those, however it s firewall is shite.

I use a combo Comodo Firewall + Windows Defender Essentials (both are free) and kaspersky PURE for that mail spam nd other banner shit.

you could try a system restore if the restore function hasnt been disabled

restore back to before you opened the email.

then delete restore points by turning system restore off then on again.

A long shot but worth a try.
