...that it couldn't get any worse, the manager they want to replace Zola in the summer is alleged to be this guy.

They have my deepest sympathies.

They think he's great in Holland, apparently.

But he looks so cheesy doesn't he?! Like the DJ "Nicey" out of that Harry Enfield sketch ....

They'd be better off with Malcolm Maclaren. If it was Steve Maclaren love to see him try his brolly trick at Upton Park when its raining. To be honest have a lot of time for West Ham and hope they pull through with Gianfranco.

Yes was shit for England but can't see your point with regards to club management. Was more succesful at Boro than all our managers put together for the past 30 odd years, won a cup and made it to a European final(with Boro) and is currently top of his league with a team way behind the resources of at least 3 rival teams.

Malcolm Mclaren! Steve Mclaren. " Double Dutch!!"

Played the most boring brand of football at Boro, would Hammers stand for it.

Looking forward to his first interview in cockernese.

Some very selective memories on here. I blame the papers and the shite they feed you.

expand?

I just mean that he got Boro into Europe, all the way to the UEFA Cup final, and also won them their first piece of real silverware. Now he's doing an excellent job at Twente, top of the League and breaking the established order.
Yet all people remember about him was his spell as England manager. Yes, it was disastrous, but it doesn't making him completely useless. He could probably do a good job at a side like West Ham.

He is regarded as an outstanding coach within the game,

The England job was too big for him at the time he had it, a little naive when dealing with the press and they tortured him really during his time in charge.

Good luck to him for going abroad and wanting to develop his coaching and management skills, at least he did not just join the merry go round of guys who get a job somewhere never really achieve anything of note yet still hawk themselves around for a "big" job and often get one.

Think about it, you could make a long list.

Fair play to Mclaren he will come back to English football a better manager than most in the Premier league.
