Juventus (A) | CL | Post Match Thread

Every team we play waits. They don’t give us the space in the final third & then wait to use their speed when they can exploit our weaknesses.

Every team we play has pace. We have none, or the players that do like Haaland, are given no space to run into.

Does Pep see Lewis as Philip Lahm 2.0? I don’t get it.

Feels like we just rock up to every match without analysing what the opposition will do.

Anyway, we know our squad is small, missing players of the quality and bedrock of the last few seasons - stones, Foden, ake, Akanji, rodri, coupled with the ageing drop off of Walker, Gundo, Kev and Bernardo. That’s a huge hole. But I suppose this is the price we pay for winning 4 on the trot.

And being honest, if offered this situation after winning 4, I would have taken it in a heart beat. Nobody has done it before, and I’d be surprised if any team does so again in the next few decades, and I’ve got to remember that. A new, different cycle will begin.

Not blaming anyone at the moment. Buying 4 or 5 top class players to take over from some of the above last season or this was never going to happen. Top class players don’t sign to sit on the bench and wait their turn. Another reason no team has ever won 4.

Things don’t taste good right now, but we’ve had so much honey over the years and that taste will come back.
Well said, we just have to swallow some bad medicine.

Lose against the rags and I can see him walking.

We need to be mega vocal on Sunday and back the manager.

We can sell every single one of those useless embarrassments on the pitch for all I care but Pep needs our support.

Lose against the rags and I would expect him to walk.

He's never known anything like this but he knows that it can get even worse. The sad fact is that the players just aren't good enough to play in his system, and there's absolutely nothing he can do about it before January.

Sunday is a must-win for us. Anything else is totally unacceptable.

Well. Not sure how we'll get out of this rut. Gundogan is pump, Lewis just doesn't have the quality, Walker is our Captain, our wingers don't know how to cross a ball. We play such a high line that it's difficult to think of a team who would struggle to make chances against us.

We better fucking beat those cunts at the weekend.

I never want to see City lose, but if we had played some kids in recent games or even someone like Nunes who has been one of our best players you could at least have seen some improvement and had some hope. Had the likes of O'Reilly, McAtee and Wright been used they might have settled into things and shown us the light at the end of the tunnel.

You can't lose trust in Pep but doing the same thing and expecting a different result...any other manager would be gone by now. I just hope he doesn't take it upon himself to walk.

It doesn't even look like we're struggling whilst trying to figure things out. Our style of play has become really old fashioned - other teams have adapted to us - probably for a while now but individual brilliance has glossed over it a bit

Quite impressed by Juventus. Technically very good, to a man, and a fantastic defensive performance. Their tackling was first class, especially in and around the box, and they knew how and when to play around us.

Goodness me, that was a hard watch!
How I fondly remember that time we got a cross in. Yes, it was last Saturday, and went right onto the head of our big 6'5'' centre forward. He scored!
I wonder if we'll ever see that happen again?
I bet Haaland thinks that too.
He's missed plenty, he doesn't get a pass.

The Boys in Blue didn’t give in. They fought to the end. It just wasn’t to be.
Thank you City, thank you lads, thank you fans. We need to still hold our heads up high. We will come back again. We are MANCHESTER CITY THE BEST TEAM IN THE LAND AND ALL THE WORLD.

Just keep trying, keep giving your all. We’re behind you all the way.
Thank you.
