Gvaardiol tweaked something. So it will be (Stones, Akanji or Ake). Ake if we are going like for like. Stones if healthy as he is the only one who is yet to play.


I believe Bernado will start. Just a hunch.

If Pep plans to play everyone, then Betilleni is in goal and Stones at CB.

I think Reindjers, Marmoush, Cherki, Foden, Haaland will start. I also think Nunes starts at RB.

It's like I said to fans on here who thought he got a raw deal after the tackle ... nine out of ten referees in the game today WOULD definitely have seen that as dangerous play, and given him a red card .... Rico Lewis can object to the decision until he's blue in the face but he KNEW he was gonna walk ... despite his acting surprised by the referees decision.

These two extra games have now been added onto his one match ban by the FIFA Discipinary body because, in addition to the referee, they too saw it as 'dangerous play', and his tournament has now been ruined ... unfortunately he has a habit of either getting involved in incidents, or costing us goals.

No, not all of them. A CM is likely to start instead of Cherki or Foden to make us more solid in the middle. Imo, Marmoush and Haaland are guaranteed to start, less so Cherki and Foden.

My sense is that if one of those 2 don't start, it will be for Doku/Savio.

I think it will be Rudolph and one of Gonzalez/ Bernardo as a base 2 with 3 AMs behind Haaland.

Gonzales and Bernardo CM
Reijnders ahead of them as a link between CM and attack
Marmoush, Haaland, and one from Foden/Cherki/Doku in attack

Also, if Pep lets RAN attack down the wing, then he will want 3 solid defenders at the back, so, imo, Akanji is more likely to start than Nunes.
 
If we win, we are playing Al Hilal or RB Salzburg at 2am on a weekday - not ideal.
However if we lose or draw it’s Real Madrid at 8pm. I personally wouldn’t mind that. It really shows us where we are as a squad.

We won't know who we are playing until the Madrid group has been finalised.
You're assuming that Madrid
I'm trying to work out who comes 1, 2 and 3 in that group if AlHilal win and its a draw in the Madrid /Salzburg match.
It would be a 3 way tie with all teams on 5 points.
I may be wrong but I think if that is the case, the results against Pachuca are not considered.
 
27 players in the match-day squad and in the Yoga video on mancity.com there are 27 mats with 27 people so that might mean everyone is fit?
 
Remember in the mid 70s both ourselves and the rags played Juve in consecutive rounds of the UEFA cup. They knocked the rags out and kicked them to death the press were outraged. The next round they kicked shit out of us and knocked us out the press didn't say a dicky bird. The more things change the more they stay the same.

Bayern playing Benfica today in Charlotte at 35°C in sweltering heat at the same time as our game on Thursday.

Plenty of "cooling breaks" today needed in this heat and with the full sun on the pitch. No picnic for sure.

We win and Madrid win and we will face Salzburg in the R16, Dortmund or River Plate in the quarter and Botafogo/ Palmeiras, Chelsea or Benfica in the semi final.

We win here and Madrid win we have a decent run to the final.
 
Looking forward to this game and eager to see Reijnders again, don’t want to sound like a broken record but I just think he’s going to be such an important player for us. Roll on Thursday
