Juventus V Fulham crowd - 11,406

In Italy the way TV deals are done you can buy a tv season ticket so you can watch everygame your team plays

Some of the reasons cited on this site have been nothing short of guesswork. Juve fans refuse to turn up to the games these days because they are fed up with the stadium, the views are terrible and they are currently at a temporary stadium whilst the Delli Alpi is being refurbished, refurbished because the Juve fans were sick of how poor the stadium is. This doesn't retract from the fact that the stadium is also in a terrible location, the Juve side is nothing like it used to be, and the financial climate in Italy isn't strong at all.

Juve story is one of those weird stories in football. Believe it or not there are more Torino Fc fans in turin than Juve fans there, yet Juve is the most supported club in the country !! There are 12 million fanatic Juve fans in the country that follow Juve games every week.

The problem is with the fans in that city more than anything else, when Juve plays away games they have more fans sometimes then there hosts (specially in the south)!! I remember in the mid-90's Juve stadium had a problem so they had to play they're games in Milano. There were atleast 45 thousand fans turning up for their games every week (and milano isn't a place where Juve fans are known to be alot in)

In Rome and "specially" in the south the people are crazy about Juve. When The late Juve owner "gianni agnelli" thought of building a new stadium instead of the current one people were begging him to build the stadium in another city (in the south) and the fans there wrote a letter saying that there will be atleast 50 thousand fans in the stadium every week but he refused to leave turino where he's business is based in (Fiat factories).

Its said that one in three footy fans in italy is a juve fan. when they play in milan and rome they can have 20k fans there, but at home in the league only 18-20k turn up. strange.

Sounds like the MANUre of Italia! Is there an Essex in there somewhere? Did the Juve fans have green and yellow scarves? Were there any Greek, Albanian, Sardinian, Lebanese accents in the crowd?

The Delle Alpi isn't being refurbished, it isn't there to be refurbished! It got demolished last year. Another one is being lined up, without the stupid running track they had which kept fans too far away from the pitch, like Chelsea in the 80's/early 90's.

Also, its well known they are the united of Italy, in terms of fans I mean. They have plastic fans, and then the real fans of other clubs hate them, just like everyone hates united.

To be honest though, italian football is a complete farce, a yesteryear league dead and buried.

Juve's ground is on the outskirts of Turin with no public transport available. They've had shit crowds for years.

There are trains/trams from the city centre & Torino main station.
I was at the WC semi in 1990 and got the train/tram.. then about 10 mins walk.. like Ashbury's to eastlands

Edit: I need to get with it... hadn't realised they'd moved from Stadio Della Alpi, where is their ground now? Is it back to the old stadio communale?

Different stadium though mate, the Delle Alpi no longer exists.

Edit: Are, you edited it!

They are still the most supported in Italy, just not by numbers in attendance.

It's been going on for years, their worst crowd was in a cup game v Sampdoria, not sure of the date, but only a few hundred shown up (no exaggeration).

However, to say there was only 11k there tonight.. the atmosphere sounded quite good at times, that's why the moved away from the Delli Alpi, it was far too big for their attendances, and no atmosphere was generated at all, thus moving them to a more compact stadium.

I thought they moved to their current ground because the Delli Alpi is being renovated, admittedly with a reduced capacity, but catering for corporate clients, an innovation in Italian football.

I agree though, they did generate a good atmosphere at times.

I'm amazed that there were only 11,000 there. Sounded more like 50,000 to me. The 10,000 Juve fans kept on singing the whole game and the atmosphere came across on the TV coverage as being fantastic. Maybe they take the Welsh at Rorke's Drift as their inspiration.

Shame because that was a fabulous stadium back in 1990.... even allowing for the running track.

DOn't like running tracks round stadiums, however that aside it was certainly one of the better looking stadiums of recent years. No doubt, seeing as its Italy, there was no need to totally demolish it, and corruption will be not too far behind the reasoning.

====================
For example, in the Coppa Italia home match against Sampdoria in the 2001–02 season, only 237 spectators showed up

Makes our mansfield attendance look massive....

Don't understand Fulhams away support, they take more away from home outside of england.

So do we ;-)

Only cos we get shit allocations... I got two premium tickets in the away stand for Fulham by claiming I was a neutral who wanted to take a friend to a prem game DAYS after the game was sold out via MCFC.

It's a f***ing disgrace - no WAY should neutral fans be able to get tickets over away fans for the away stand.

I swear we're being deliberately screwed over... Should't they have to give a MINIMUM equal allocation based upon a percentage of capacity?

I'd have been hacked off if I'd travelled over for that only to see a crowd smaller than TNS.

I was referring to the fact that we take more to Euro aways than we do some home league games.

The reason we have a shit allocation at Fulham, is the cost of the tickets, they normally give 2800 tickets I think, but if City take the whole allocation we have to pay for it, sell it or not, and with many City fans not going because of the cost, that would just be giving Fulham money for nothing, so City took a smaller allocation.
